Class Description: 
This one-week (38-hour) course develops the crime scene reconstruction skills introduced in Crime Scene Investigation II (S211). The students are introduced to concepts of reconstruction through a series of documented scenes which are designed to develop their reconstruction analysis skills. The students should also have taken Bloodstain Analysis and Trajectory Analysis classes or have considerable crime scene investigation experience. The graduates of this class should be able to work independently at crime scenes and to reconstruct the events of a crime from proper documentation materials. Each student will be asked to bring documentation and reports from a reconstruction case for class discussion and evaluation. Each class is limited to 12 students. POST certification is pending.

Teaching Methods: 
Simulations, lectures, exercises and demonstrations.
Objectives: 
Students will be required to reconstruct a crime from photographs, sketches, and reports.
Prerequisites: 
S111 Applicants should have taken the following CCI courses Crime Scene Investigation I, S211 Crime Scene Investigation II, DESIREABLE COURSES INCLUDE: S201 Bloodstain Pattern Interpretation, and S202 Firearms Trajectory Interpretation, or 2. Instructor's permission - must demonstrate equivalent course work.
Preparation: 
Bring documentation of reconstruction case to class for discussion.
Materials Fee: 
$25
Tuition: 
No cost to POST supported or State of California based Law Enforcement agencies. A $600.00 tuition fee will be required of all other public agency, private sector, or out-of-state applicants.
