(LOS ANGELES) – Attorney General Bill Lockyer today issued the following statement on the convening of a criminal jury to investigate energy pricing practices in California:
"A criminal grand jury will be convened in early July in our efforts to get at the truth about energy pricing practices for electricity and natural gas that hit California pocketbooks hard. Through the grand jury in Sacramento, we will further focus our criminal probe to determine whether the California market was manipulated and profits taken illegally, and whether there was fraud against the public. Since grand jury proceedings are confidential, further comment from my office will be limited."
