Class Description: 

This three-day (24-hour) course is designed to acquaint the students with the concepts of Forensic Wound Pathology. The students will be taught the basic concepts in a variety of forensic pathology topics. The relationship of forensic pathology to the forensic aspects of criminal investigations will also be discussed. The course will be presented from the view point of a pathologist who is familiar and acquainted with the needs of the criminal justice system and the forensic laboratory. This course is intended for those personnel who have responsibility or anticipate having responsibility in crime scene response. Each class is limited to 35 students.

To further the field responder's knowledge of various types of death investigations
Prerequisites: 
Priority enrollment for the course will be given to criminalists and forensic scientists
Tuition: 
No cost to POST supported or State of California based Law Enforcement agencies. A $360.00 tuition fee will be required of all other public agency, private sector, or out-of-state applicants.
