LOS ANGELES – Attorney General Kamala D. Harris expressed her condolences to the family of Hawthorne Police Officer Andrew Garton, who died Thursday in the line of duty.

“Andrew Garton was a brave officer, and his death reminds us that he and other law enforcement officers in every part of California risk their lives for us every day,” Attorney General Harris said. “Each time they report to work, our officers face new dangers that often they have no way to anticipate. My heart goes out to Officer Garton’s family, friends and colleagues.”
