Attorney General Kamala D. Harris Issues Statement on Re-Nomination of Richard Cordray

SAN FRANCISCO -- Attorney General Kamala D. Harris today issued the following statement on the re-nomination of CFPB Director Richard Cordray:

"I applaud President Obama's re-nomination of Mr. Cordray to a full term as CFPB Director. Rich has been a tireless advocate for consumers and a strong, dedicated partner to the nation's attorneys general.  I have worked closely with Rich and, under his leadership, CFPB has continued to be a key partner for California in our ongoing efforts to crack down on consumer fraud.  I believe his nomination and speedy confirmation will ensure that CFPB continues to fulfill its mission of bringing accountability and appropriate supervision to the nation's consumer finance markets."
