California Attorney General Xavier Becerra issued the following statement on today’s oral arguments in Texas et al. v. United States et al.:
"How the Trump Administration and Texas politicians can look Americans in the eye as they calculate how to rip away their healthcare is chilling. We can’t backslide to the days when healthcare was for the healthy and wealthy. Texas’ lawsuit would strip health security from 133 million Americans with preexisting conditions and 20 million who gained coverage through the ACA. Our reply to that in court: Not on our watch.”
