Attorney General Becerra Issues Statement on Fallen Officer Valentin Martinez, Los Angeles Police Department

SACRAMENTO — California Attorney General Xavier Becerra today issued the following statement to pay respects to fallen Officer Valentin Martinez of the Los Angeles Police Department and his family on the day of his memorial services:

"I ask every Californian to join me today to pause and honor the life and service of Valentin Martinez, an Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. Officer Martinez passed away on July 24, 2020, from complications due to COVID-19. He began protecting and serving the people of Los Angeles in 2007, most recently in the north San Fernando Valley. We extend our deepest sympathies to Officer Martinez’s partner, Megan, and his entire loving family. Thank you for your service, rest in eternal peace, Officer Martinez. EOW: 7/24/20."
