OAKLAND – Attorney General Bonta today issued a statement following the Anaheim City Council’s vote approving a proposed stipulated judgment resolving allegations that the City violated the Surplus Land Act in its sale of land on and around Angel Stadium.

“It’s official – the Anaheim City Council has approved our groundbreaking judgment requiring the city to dedicate $123 million of the new money coming from SRB Management to fund the construction of new affordable housing in Anaheim,” said Attorney General Bonta. “At the California Department of Justice, we are committed to working with our state and local partners to address the state's housing shortage and affordability crisis. Enforcing state housing laws is an important component of this work, and we are proud to have reached a resolution in this case that will bring much-needed housing — but especially affordable housing — to the Anaheim community.”
