Attorney General Bonta Issues Statement on Death of Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy

OAKLAND — California Attorney General Rob Bonta today issued the following statement on the death of Riverside County Sheriff’s Motor Deputy Isaiah Cordero, who died in the line of duty on Thursday, December 29, 2022:

“My heart goes out to the family, friends, and colleagues of Deputy Isaiah Cordero,” said Attorney General Bonta. “Deputy Cordero will forever be remembered for his extraordinary service protecting the people of California. On behalf of the entire California Department of Justice, I extend my sincere condolences to Deputy Cordero’s loved ones and the Riverside community.”

First joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 2014, Deputy Cordero was an eight-year veteran of the department. Deputy Cordero is survived by his mother, Rebecca, and father, Gilbert.
