Attorney General Lockyer Statement on Court Ruling Allowing States to Pursue Tough Antitrust Remedies

(SACRAMENTO) – Attorney General Bill Lockyer issued the following statement on the federal court's dismissal of Microsoft's motion to dismiss the states' antitrust case:

"The court today rejected Microsoft's bid to derail the pursuit of tough antitrust remedies by the states. In doing so, the court makes clear that state attorneys general have the right to prosecute antitrust violations and to pursue remedies for violations such as those found in the Microsoft case."
