SACRAMENTO — California Attorney General Xavier Becerra released the following statement after President Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey raised serious questions about the ability of the FBI to investigate allegations that Russia tampered with our election:  

"It is vital that we have an independent investigation. We must ensure the integrity of our democracy. Why is the Trump Administration afraid of this investigation? The American people deserve answers.”
