SAN FRANCISCO - Attorney General Kamala D. Harris today issued the following statement on the death of San Bernardino Police Officer Bryce Hanes, who was killed this morning in the line of duty:

“On behalf of the entire California Department of Justice, I extend my sympathies to the family and loved ones of Officer Bryce Hanes. I also extend my condolences to Chief Jarrod Burguan and the entire San Bernardino Police Department, which has lost not only a colleague, but a family member. This tragedy serves as a reminder of the dangers our law enforcement officers willingly and bravely assume each day when they put on the badge in service of their communities and their state.”
