Violent Crime Investigative Support Section (VCISS)

The Violent Crime Investigative Support Section (VCISS) provides analytical investigative assistance to law enforcement and prosecuting agencies with respect to homicides, kidnappings, sexual assaults, robberies, cold cases and unsolved crimes. VCISS services include:

  • Cell Phone Record Analysis
  • Cell Tower and Location Mapping
  • Charts and Timelines
  • Cold Case Review and Consolidation
  • Target Packages

Law Enforcement Agencies or District Attorney Offices can find more information regarding VCISS services and contact information for VCISS through the California Law Enforcement Web (CLEW) at http://clew.doj.ca.gov/ under the “CJIS Programs”, “Investigative Services”.
