Summary:
In 2026, the Registry of Charities and Fundraisers is releasing an online filing service for all categories of its registrants, including charitable corporations, unincorporated associations, and trustees (collectively, “Charities”); commercial fundraisers for charitable purposes, fundraising counsel for charitable purposes, and commercial coventurers (collectively, “Professional Fundraisers”); eligible nonprofit organizations conducting raffles (“Raffle Fundraisers”); and certain nonprofit schools that previously operated as for-profits (“Nonprofit Schools”). Pursuant to this rulemaking, Charities, Professional Fundraisers, Raffle Fundraisers, and Nonprofit Schools will be required to submit filings and payments to the Registry online, rather than using paper documents and paper checks. The proposed regulations and forms establish the process by which filings and payments will be submitted online.
